What’s the Complete Story?

Kia has confirmed the global reveal of the new 2026 Seltos and has shared its first official teaser. The automaker has confirmed its world premiere for December 10. The new Seltos will be bigger, more stylish, and more rugged than the current model.

It may even get a hybrid engine for the first time, positioning it as a stronger competitor in the growing subcompact SUV segment. First launched in 2019 and refreshed in 2022, the Seltos is now entering its second generation.

Kia shared teasers showing that the upcoming fully redesigned Seltos will look boxier and more rugged than the current one. According to the company, the new Seltos blends the rugged heritage of past ICE SUVs with the clean, aerodynamic sophistication of Kia’s latest EVs.

Upfront, it gets slim vertical LED headlights and a wider frame with integrated daytime running lights. With a higher side window line and a roof design that looks like it’s floating, it almost resembles the electric Kia EV5.

It also uses a combination of horizontal and vertical LED taillights, just like the EV5. You can also see flush door handles, the modern mirrors, and the aluminum trim on the roof and skid plates.

You can choose from rugged X-Line or sportier GT-Line variants, each with subtle styling differences.

Is it Bigger?

Yes, the new Seltos seems to be slightly larger than the current model, which measures 4,365 mm (171.9 inches) in length. It means you will experience a roomier cabin, better comfort, and improved practicality.

However, the full dimensions of the new Seltos have not yet been released by the company.

What about the Interior?

Although no interior teasers have been released yet, Kia promises a “high-tech character,” hinting at its latest digital cockpit, new materials, and upgraded driver-assistance systems.

Engine Options

The upcoming 2026 Seltos is expected to come in both gasoline and hybrid versions, potentially joined by an e-AWD configuration.

It may feature an updated turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and the self-charging hybrid setup shared with the related Hyundai Kona and Kia Niro.

2026 Kia Seltos Launch Date

Kia will officially reveal the new Seltos on December 10. The Seltos remains a global SUV and will continue to serve multiple markets. It could reach Europe.

However, the complete details will be revealed after the launch.
